A serious game is a game designed for a primary purpose other than pure
entertainment. It is an educational tool that uses game
mechanics to achieve the intended learning. It relies upon the combination

The MBENEFITS Serious Game can be used for
training purposes in our face-to-face or virtual workshops, or on its own.
The mechanisms and interfaces have been developed with a view to
future use in different countries and by players from different
corporate environments.
The MBENEFITS Serious Game has been successfully played in classrooms
and virtual sessions in several EU countries, Switzerland and the USA over
the past four years, to the delight of hundreds of attendees.
The game is based on information provided by a real industrial company on
condition of anonymity. The University of Lausanne (UNIL) provided the
serious game script and the documents given to the player during the game,
a description of the company, its managers, its business model and
management systems, and the game stages.
The School of Engineering and Management of the Canton of Vaud worked
together with UNIL to integrate the content of the serious game and the
gamification.
